Founded by Thomas during his PhD, Ekodama emerged from a desire to bring PhD-level expertise in soil, carbon, and agroforestry into practical, applied consulting. Frustrated by the gap between rigorous science and real-world implementation, Thomas set out to deliver solutions that are both scientifically precise and tailored to client needs - helping companies, NGOs, and research partners navigate complex sustainability challenges.

About the designs
The logomark distills Ekodama’s identity into a powerful symbol. Formed from the letter “K,” it represents both growth and grounding, with the vertical strokes rising like a plant and the horizontal line acting as the layer of soil that supports it.
The lower part of the “K” remains hidden, symbolizing the unseen yet essential foundation of Ekodama’s work: the research, data, and scientific integrity that enable visible results. Encased within a circle, the mark embodies unity, balance, and the cyclical systems of nature: connecting scientific structure with organic continuity.
The brand icons are built from simple geometric structures that echo Ekodama’s analytical, modular, and data-driven essence.
Their clean forms ensure clarity and recognition, while the rough, irregular edges add a natural texture - reflecting the brand’s connection to the earth and its organic processes.
The brand illustrations take inspiration from the details of nature, capturing the intricate textures that make each ecosystem unique.
